Tracey Cahill

Swimming Teacher

My name is Tracey and I have enjoyed working as a swimming teacher for over six years. I returned to aquatic instruction in 2017 at Mill Park Leisure (YMCA), working in school and private programs, and my most recent work role was as an Instructor and Teacher in Charge at Brunswick Baths. I have previously worked for the YMCA at several sites with experience in the Aqua Safe, and Vic Swim programs, and at private centres with teaching Swim to Survive.

Being able to bring out the best in our students, developing their confidence and self-esteem whilst celebrating their achievements, gives my work a purpose. Learning to swim is an essential life skill which brings enjoyment, encourages social interaction, promotes health, and potentially saves lives.

Since returning to swim teaching, I have completed studies in training and assessment, management, aquatic professional development, and certifications in first aid to assist in my work.

I continue to work toward new goals. My next objectives are to complete a university diploma in business studies and update my Pool Lifeguard certification.

I look forward to working with the students and parents at Ivanhoe Girls' Aquatics.
